Curriculum Summary

In the Early Years starting from our 2-year-old provision through to reception, staff make use of the non-statutory guidance Birth to Five matters whilst ensuring the statutory framework for the EYFS is met. Reception children are assessed against the appropriate early learning goals, creating with materials to contribute to them reaching a good level of development.

In Years 1- 6 a bespoke Design Technology Curriculum has been created using the National Curriculum Aims and Twinkl Scheme Content as a basis for teaching and as a main resource, as it carefully sequences knowledge, concepts and procedures to build Design Technology knowledge and skills systematically and over time the curriculum draws connections across different units of work. School adopts a flexible approach to units that will often include differentiated elements so those pupils behind age related expectations or working at a greater depth are provided with the opportunities to learn Design Technology knowledge and skills necessary to catch up with peers and access an appropriate level of challenge.
