Mrs Yalman and Mrs Radford
welcome to YEAR 3 ...
Welcome to Year 3! We are enthusiastic, independent and successful learners taught by Mrs Yalman.
Mrs Radford is the teaching assistant in our class and she supports us individually, in groups and as a class in lots of different ways.
We always try our best with every task we are given and we are not afraid of making mistakes. We know that these mistakes will help us to improve our learning. We work hard in all subjects and always make the right 'Choices' .
The word-list for years 3 and 4 is statutory. The lists are a mixture of words pupils frequently use in their writing and those which they often misspell. Some of the listed words may be thought of as quite challenging, but the 100 words in each list can easily be taught within the four years of key stage 2 alongside other words that teachers consider appropriate.
We will learn these spellings as we move through the Year. Sometimes revisiting the same list more than once.
Listen to some of our children speaking in French.
We are investigating the fats, sugar and salt content in different foods. We know we should buy food with less fat, sugar and salt.
In DT we made juggling balls. First we tie dyed white fabric. Then we used a hemming stitch to sew our ball shape which we then filled with rice.
Light and shadow investigation. What happens to the shadow if we change the distance of our light source?
Geography research - we are finding out what the highest mountains, longest rivers and biggest lakes in the UK and France are.
We are practising collage skills, such as cutting, ripping and layering.
Watch the video to listen to our collage evaluations and to look at our final art pieces.
During our Tennis lessons we learnt how to hold a racket correctly and practised hitting skills.
